I am grateful to the various sites from where I picked up ideas for the write-ups, images and videos that happened to touch my heart while preparing myself and my children on this Advent journey in faith .. I have tried giving credits where I could.. I have tailored the materials accordingly to suit my needs. My sincere apologies if I have not given due credit in all places. - Sabrina D'Mello

Today as we look at our manger set up at our homes, instead of just seeing a baby lying there in the hay, let us ponder more deeply on the details that the angel reveals to Mary.
First, He says this Child will be great—the greatest human to ever live. Next, he calls Him the Son of the Most High. Though he would be the son of Mary yet he would also be known as the Son of God.
Reflection
As Mary looked at the angel shining in all his glory she too was terrified, but Gabriel called her by her name and tried to calm the excitement she was going through and then revealed God's special plan for her. She was chosen to be the Mother of God's own son. In short, he explains to her the whole story of Christmas. She will conceive and give birth to a Son and His name shall be called Jesus.

Now he reveals this Child is born to be King, but He will not be like any other earthly king. Other kings and leaders depend upon the might of their military or the assent of their people to rule. But Jesus’ Kingship will reign in the hearts of people and will never end.
Christmas Symbol :
Light
The tradition of using small candles to light up the Christmas tree dates back to the mid-1600s, beginning first in Germany and then eventually spreading around the world. Originally candles for the tree were glued with melted wax to a tree branch or attached by pins. In 1882, the first Christmas tree was lit by the use of electricity. Edward Johnson (under the direction of Thomas Edison) lit up a Christmas tree in New York City with eighty small electric light bulbs which eventually became a mass phenomenon.
Today, as you see the Christmas light displays around the city, remember that Jesus is the true light of the world!
Prayer
Lord, thank you for sending your Son to be the Light of the World so that we would not have to walk in darkness anymore. Help me to share that light with others. Amen.

Quiz Time
I bought my brother some gift wrap for Christmas. I took it to the gift wrap department and told them to wrap it, but in a different print so he would know when to stop unwrapping.
